This book is a program designed to help you increase your control of how you handle adversity.
Martin Seligman is one of the fathers of positive psychology which in contrast to previous theories of psychology focuses on positive human functioning. It's a short book (audiobook is 1h 24 mins) but it really breaks down the differences between the mindsets behind pessimism and optimism. There is a test to show you where you are on the scale (Google Learned Optimism Test) and guidance on how to develop a more optimistic explanatory style of thinking.
Optmists are happier, live longer and are much better equipped to deal with stress, adversity and failure. There are sooo many benefits to optimism, Google that too if you don't believe me😉
This has been your weekly 1 Minute Book Review, every Tuesday on David Love TV.
