Hello everyone and welcome back.
In today's video I'm going electric! Yep, I decided it was time to try out an electric car in my favourite destination, the Canary Islands.
Touching down at Gran Canaria Airport, Las Palmas, I pick up a very groovy little car, the FIAT 500 Electric, fully charged and raring to go!
If only life was that simple though! Tune in to find out what life is like as a tourist, as I take you on a 50 minute guided tour of Gran Canaria, keeping our little charged as we go. Sort of.
In today's video we visit the site of EC-BBT, a former DC-7 that was the first aircraft to bring tourists to the island of Gran Canaria. Then we head up to see a former hotel Balneario de Azuaje, abandoned around the time of the Spanish Civil War. Following that, we head up to see a former 30's mineral water bottling plant, the former Princesa Guayarmina hotel, the abandoned hotel of Taurito where worked abruptly stopped in 2009, then head up for lunch at the delightful Puerto Mogan before ending the day at the Mirador del Balcon - a high viewing platform where you can see Tenerife.
