This bright and colourful video helps children to understand the life cycle of a butterfly step by step. A butterfly lays their eggs on a leaf. These eggs then hatch into small caterpillars.These caterpillars grow on a herbivore diet, eating plants and leaves. Once grown, caterpillars create a Chrysalis (otherwise known as a cacoon) around themselves where they stay for between 5 and 21 days. Once they emerge from this chrysalis they have transformed into a butterfly.This process then begins again as this butterfly lays their eggs on another leaf.
