In this video, Keith shares his story of how he was diagnosed with Arachnoiditis and how surgery at the Bonati Spine Institute relieved his pain.
Arachnoiditis is the inflammation of the arachnoid membrane, the middle of three delicate membranes, called the meninges, that surround the spinal cord. The name is actually derived from the term “arachnoid” because of the membrane’s spider web-like appearance. The inflammation of the arachnoid membrane leads to scar tissue formation. This scar tissue can cause spinal nerves to clump together, causing a condition known as adhesive arachnoiditis. This clumping just on the inside of the spinal nerve roots causes nerve compression. Keith suffered from this condition until he was lucky enough to find the Bonati Spine Institute and receive the surgery he needed.
