Romania owns about 98 Soviet MiG-21s, and it's time to let it rest. The Ministry of Defense officially announced that the Romanian Air Force will stop using these aircraft as of May 15. The move is intended to pave the way for the transition to the F-16. Prior to that, the MiG-21, although obsolete, was still on active combat duty and airspace patrol.
