History of the Cirrus SR Series
The Cirrus SR series is a single-engine four / five seat composite aircraft built from 1999 –
Presented by Cirrus Aircraft. The initial launch of the Cirrus SR20 a few years prior, gave way to the more powerful 310 horsepower iteration, the SR22 (and ultimately the SR22T).
The SR22 series has been the world's best-selling GA airplane every year since 2003. With over 10,000 units delivered worldwide, Cirrus is the best-selling aircraft of the 21st century! The Cirrus SR22 is equipped with a whole-plane emergency recovery parachute system: the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS), largely contributing to its market success.
