FAO "북한 등 코로나 사태로 새로운 식량 위기"
A UN agency is warning 180 million people in underdeveloped countries, including North Korea, could experience chronic food shortages due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a report published Monday, the Food and Agriculture Organization said it would help 30 underdeveloped countries such as Myanmar, the Philippines and North Korea cope with food shortages.
It said it would need to budget around 350 million U.S. dollars for the remainder of 2020 three times more than the UN agency said it needed in April.
It added that they need ways to work around closed borders to provide food aid.
