Darul Aman Palace:
is one of the historical monuments of Afghanistan, located at Chardhai area, about 8 km southwest of Kabul city center, at the end of Darul Aman main road, at the foot of Mount Qurgh. Near the palace was built during the reign of the late Ghazi Amanullah Khan. Good political relations existed between Afghanistan and Germany at the time of the construction of the Darul Aman Palace. At the initiative of Joseph Brix, 22 German government engineers came to Kabul to build cities and houses, and 700 Afghan workers were involved in the construction of the palace. The construction of this palace was started by a German engineer named Walter Horton in 1304 AH and was completed in 1306 AD. The palace consisted of 150 small and large rooms that were used by all the government apparatuses of the Amani period.
History:
The Darlaman Palace was burnt down due to a power outage on December 22, 1967, when it was occupied by the Ministry of Public Works or Public Works. کوله. The Loya Jirga for the ratification of the 1355 constitution of Sardar Mohammad Daud Khan was held in this palace. During the reign of Hafizullah Amin, the Presidential Palace was once again moved to Darul Aman Palace, where the palace caught fire during the Soviet invasion on 6 Jeddah 1358.
During the 1960's, the Afghan Ministry of Defense used the palace to the extent that it was severely damaged on the 16th day of the coup d'tat of Hout 1368, launched by General Shahnawaz Tanai against Dr. Najibullah. Was but soon repaired.
In the early seventies, during the civil war for power waged by the Mujahideen, this historic structure of Afghanistan was once again severely damaged and when the then Ministry of Defense (Ahmad Shah Massoud was the Minister of Defense). Gulbuddin Hekmatyar and Abdul Ali Mazari learned from a joint meeting that they had twice bombed the palace, which had been reduced to rubble. Not to mention that Hekmatyar and Mazari had left just ten minutes earlier. From 1373 to 1395 the above mentioned palace was abandoned and unusable.
The President of the Islamic State of Afghanistan, Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai, and the Chief Executive of Afghanistan, Abdullah Abdullah, officially began the reconstruction of the historic Darul Aman Palace on June 10, 2016, at a cost of 16 million from the Afghan budget. Afghanistan held its first meeting of the High Commission for Urban Development in the ruins of the building.
