Ice breakers; Name game; Facilitators: Team meeting; Team building:
For a new group to learn names instead of the same old boring and scary introductions
This game can be played in a decent sized double room - hall - a boardroom - outside
Equipment required - 3 balls or anything you can safely throw
Step 1: Ask the group to stand up in the circle with enough space to give everyone space and not to much so that they will not be able to catch a ball from opposite them.
*Ensure you ask everyone to play nicely and- not to throw too hard* (if you feel it is neccessary)
Step 2: Say your name throw it to another person
Step 3: Tell that person to throw it to another saying their name
Step 4: Keep this going until you feel everyone has had a turn and you can remember a couple of names - get the ball back to you organically - be patient
Step 5: Now throw the ball and say someone else's name
step 6: Allow all to do this several times until you have a flow and everyone is fully engaged
Step 7: Adding other balls
Step 8: Throw the ball 1. get everyone to throw it to another to create a patter,n ensuring all are included in the pattern - continue until all remember who is throwing it to them and who they are throwing it to; let everyone learn the pattern and encourage when they make mistakes - keep the message to the group this is about play and keep this spirit throughout your workshops
Step : Add another ball when the first is halfway round - Add 3rd ball - Until it all collapses into a heap of laughter
Laugh Laugh Laugh and remember to ensure you are clear and give instruction for the group to stay focused - Remember you are the facilitator not a teacher so allow alll to feel that they are leaders
Enjoy
