moth beans recipe
ingredients:
moth beans 2 cups
chopped onion 1/2 cup
crushed garlic 2-3
turmeric a pinch
tamarind paste 1 tb sp
jaggery 1 tsp
salt as needed
gurellu pudi(Niger seed powder )2 tbsp
green paste Masala :
coriander 1/2 bunch
curry leaves 2 strands
green chilli 3-4
garlic 2
cumin seeds 1 tsp
seasoning :
oil 2 tb sp
mustard 1 tsp
jeera 1 tsp
hing a pinch

method :
1. wash and soak moth beans in warm water for 2 hrs. Pressure cook moth beans for two whistles using a tsp oil
2. grind the green paste Masala ingredients without adding any water
3.place a vessel on stove and start with seasoning. add in chopped onion, garlic and turmeric . saute for a few minutes.
4. once the onion is soft add in cooked moth beans and mix once.
5.add in salt,jaggery, ground green paste, tamarind and gurellu pudi ( Niger seed powder) one by one.
adjust water and cook on medium flame for some time.this curry can be served with jowar roti, chapathi etc.
