Jagadish Shettar, a former chief minister of Karnataka and a well-known Lingayat politician, joined the Congress party in Bengaluru. In the presence of DK Shivakumar, president of the KPCC, and Mallikarjun Kharge, president of the Congress at large. Shettar is likely to get the Congress ticket from Hubballi – Dharwad central constituency. He is a six-time MLA, served as CM of Karnataka and as a BJP’s state president.
