Chhattisgarh Express (18237/18238) is a well known old Indian train which connects Gevra Road and Amritsar. Its name represents the state of Chhattisgarh.
It was first introduced in year 1977 as Bhopal - Bilaspur Chhattisgarh Aanchal Express and used to run between Bilaspur and Habibganj (Bhopal).
This train was the first train to originate from newly constructed sub-urban railway station Habibganj. In year 1980, the train was extended to main railway station of Bhopal; Bhopal Junction.
Later in year 1987, it was extended to Hazrat Nizamuddin as well as New Delhi and then finally in year 1990 to Amritsar.
In 2018, it was extended to Gevra Road From Bilaspur.

It starts from Hyderabad Deccan Nampally and covers 1677 km with an average speed of 64 km/hr takes around 26 hours and 40 Minutes to reach New Delhi. It takes 26 hours and 10 Minutes from New Delhi to Hyderabad Deccan Nampally. The train got LHB rakes w.e.f. 15 July, 2019.
