Daniel Turner is an award winning Classical Guitarist from Windsor, Ontario. Currently a doctoral student at the University of Toronto, he is researching the effect of fingering on musical effect in the performance of J.S Bach’s music on the guitar. Daniel performs often as a soloist, and also in duos with singers, flutists, violinists, pianists and other guitarists, often creating arrangements for these duos. He has performed with the Windsor Symphony Orchestra, placed in International Guitar Competitions, and hosted independent concerts where original works were premiered.
Founder of the Vancouver Classical Guitar Festival, Luis Angel Medina is a native of Guadalajara, Mexico where he began his formal studies. He holds the MMus degree from the University of Georgia in Athens, and is currently pursuing a Doctoral in Musical Arts at the University of Toronto. He has been featured in some of the most prestigious guitar societies in Canada, such as the Vancouver, Calgary, and Toronto guitar societies. Luis is also very active across Canada directing guitar ensembles, at various festivals teaching and performing. Luis’s aims are to inspire others by sharing his love for music, and to bring the classical guitar to the larger community.
