Split is the second largest city in Croatia and one of the most beautiful and interesting places on the Adriatic Sea. Split was once a part of the Roman Empire, and some of the buildings from that time have held up very well. It also has beautiful squares and markets, sunny beaches, azure waters that are great for swimming and water sports, a big port, and a number of interesting museums.
