*Video codecs quickly explained*
Videos come in many different file formats such as MP4, Avi, Mov, MKV and more. They are all just containers to compress your video files. They are compatible with different devices and systems. H.264 MP4 files are the most compatible and will work on your mobile phones+ most devices natively. MP4 files tend to be much smaller in file size compared to an MOV file. MKV and Avi files won't work on Apple devices and computers without installing software like VLC player (also available on PC).
