Exploring Alberobello Puglia Italy - Most Unique Town

Alberobello is a town in Italy’s Apulia region. It’s known for its trulli, whitewashed stone huts with conical roofs. The hilltop Rione Monti district has hundreds of them. The 18th-century Trullo Sovrano is a 2-level trulli. Furniture and tools at the Museo del Territorio Casa Pezzolla re-create life in the trulli as it was centuries ago. Southwest of town is the Casa Rossa, a WWII internment camp.

The uniqueness of the stratified landscape in Alberobello meant that this fairytale setting was first recognized as a National Monument (1910) and later a UNESCO World Heritage Site (1996). On 7 December 1996 in Merida, Mexico, Alberobello was included in the list of world heritage sites.

In this video, I'd like to introduce you to the incredibly unique town of Alberobello in Italy's Puglia region (the heel). Alberobello has one of the most exciting forms of architecture I've ever seen, and it's almost entirely made up of Trullo, or one-of-a-kind houses and buildings with conical roofs. You can easily plan a day trip to Alberobello from the surrounding cities like Locorotondo and Martina Franca.
