"We love it when a plan comes together." 💪🌲 Youth Chainsaw Class!

At the Trackers A-Team Apprenticeship, we had the incredible opportunity to host experienced wildland firefighter and former Trackers educator David Friedmann during his off-season. David not only helped remove hazard trees and thin overgrown forests—reducing wildfire danger and enhancing wildlife habitat—but he also spent two weekends teaching our Trackers A-Team students the safe and proper use of chainsaws.

Under David's expert guidance, our tween and teen students gained hands-on experience in limbing, bucking, and felling small-diameter, low-complexity trees. Using STIHL MS 250s, an ideal beginner chainsaw, they approached their work of learning with care, responsibility, and a deep respect for the land.

This experience is just the beginning! We’re excited to incorporate more forestry and silvopasture ranching into our Land Stewardship programs. These efforts connect with our mission to mitigate wildfire risks and foster healthy habitats for our forests. 🌳🐾
