Sixty-eight top-performing athletes who represented Singapore at the SEA Games and Commonwealth Games were awarded cash prizes of about S$860,000 at an appreciation dinner on Sep 14. CNA understands that the prize money Singapore swimmer Joseph Schooling would have been awarded for his performance at the SEA Games has been put on hold. This follows the swimmer admitting to having consumed cannabis overseas.
