Many consider Sango Bay Beach (aka Durness Beach) the most beautiful beach in mainland Scotland. It is located in the northwestern corner of the United Kingdom near the small village of Durness, on the famous NC500 route. The beach is divided into three parts by rocky walls. On the main one, there is a charming, wooden viewing platform from which you can enjoy the view of the beach to both sides of the wall and the endless ocean to the front. What is quite unusual about this beach is the number of amenities. Not many beaches in Scotland have toilets, restaurants, a campsite and a large car park. This makes this beach quite busy and the view from the beach to the dunes behind is slightly spoiled by the row of campervans standing on the verge of the cliff. On the other hand, the sand is soft and bright with a golden hue, the ocean is nearly always sapphire blue and rocky formations dotting the beach make the beach look interesting and unusual.
