In 1967, President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Public Broadcasting Act which paved the way for the creation of public television and public radio through PBS and NPR.
Upon signing, Johnson remarked, "It will be free and independent—and it will belong to all the people." This is our mission at Texas Tech Public Media: to share your stories and produce content that benefits you, your family, and your neighbors.
