Meidase S3 PRO 2021 Review.

Today we have here the latest Trail Camera from Meidase called the S3 PRO. Immediate similar models from this manufacture are;
The SL122 PRO, SL122M PRO and the P20.

This camera was purchased by me and for my personal use and I did not receive any funds from the manufacture to produce this review. The expressions and opinions in this video are solely my own.

This camera is aimed to those who enjoy hunting and wish to track movement of animals via the motion sensor. Can also be used to track and record changes in ambient temperature caused by other smaller animals, and also as an outdoor home security device.

Main features
This is a motion sensing camera like non-other in the market today.
Housing an impressive Sony Stavis Image sensor with nighthawk technology to deliver images @32MB, with a burst of upto 9 images and 1080p video @30fps.

This unit comes with an IP66 waterproof rating that can keep water out and operate in temperatures of -20C to plus 60C. Outdoor cold usage can very when not using (lithium batteries) of which this unit takes 8 AAs.

Max store is reached @512MB, using a class 10 SD-Card.

Motion detection speed is obtain @0.1s, with a recovery time of just 0.5s all while using both front and side sensors and capable of reaching objects at a distance of upto 100ft (per manufacture specs).

Test Duration & Configurations
Our outdoor camera test consisting of 18.5 hours was able to collect 61 jpeg images and 60 videos in total.
Camera image capture was set to 4MB. The results of 61 jpeg images ranged in 3.36Mb to 5.52Mb.
Video capture configuration was set @1080p for 10 minute video. 60 videos collected during this time with a range of 316MB to 560MB per video.

From this example you can see both image & video quality are very good during day & night using the Sony lens.

Final Comments
I would definitely recommend this outdoor trail camera for its features to price range in this category. This unit as seen here is in the price range between 100 to 110 Canadian dollars within this manufacture. Again they all look very similar with the shell, but is the inside that count.

Similar models mentioned before from Meidase; (such as the SL122 & P20 lineup) range in price between $45 to $65 CDN but do not have advantage of all features this camera provides. So I did not mind paying an extra $50 dollars make this last a little longer in the area of technology. And that said, we are talking again about the ...
