A competitive review is an assessment of a game according to the quality of the online multiplayer modes it offers and how feature-complete it is in order to provide a satisfactory competitive experience. The main reference is the following video:

There we identify 7 key aspects that are required for an excellent competitive experience. These are:

- Accessibility: tutorials, game information, settings, customizability...
- Ladders: existence of them, granularity, unranked mode...
- Leagues/Seasons: rating and time divisions that help players set goals
- Transparency: is the rating system cleary displayed and easy to grasp?
- Replays: access to a match history, game analytics
- Performance: player feedback after a game
- Statistics: record of performance in time, important for players to monitor their progress

Each of the items can be evaluated to be V Good, ~ Mediocre or X Bad and based on those scores we give an overall verdict on whether the game provides a good, mediocre or bad competitive experience.
