Square Your Roof
Since not all roofs are square, it’s important first to chalk out a squared reference line on your roof to make sure your panels are always going on straight. You will square your roof using the three-four-five triangle method:
Measure three feet from the opposite edge of where you will begin your installation.
Measure four feet from this mark.
From the corner, measure diagonally across five feet, and mark the intersection with the four-foot mark
Snap a string line from the three-foot mark to the intersecting mark.
When installing metal panels, make sure to leave a two-inch gap between roofing sheets at the peak to allow for adjustment on the lower end later.
