Tropical moisture is feeding into a trough spreading from the tropics to south-east Australia. The cloudband associated with this trough is going to produce very heavy rainfall which could lead to flash flooding across central, southern and western New South Wales and northern and north-eastern parts of Victoria.
A number of severe weather warnings have been issued for states including New South Wales and Victoria. Across the weekend, in New South Wales and northern Victoria, rainfall in excess of 100mm is forecast.
