"My Salvation Is a Gift, Not a Reward"
Ephesians 2:8-9 - God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.
I am a giving God, and I make myself known through my gifts. The most important things in life, forgiveness, a right relationship with me, acceptance into my family as my child, life that never ends, spiritual understanding, the transforming power of my Spirit, the promise of my blessing now and forever. these are all gifts that I give to those I have chosen to be mine. I don’t negotiate. I can’t be bribed or manipulated. There is nothing you can do to get these things from me apart from my choice to give them.
My gift of salvation is not a reward for your performance, and neither is it payment for services rendered. It all hangs on grace. I have saved you by my grace because you believe.
Prayer:
You, Lord, are the Giver of all I have received. There is no room for pride in accomplishment but only thanksgiving that you placed the gift of salvation in my outstretched hand of faith. Amen.
