*States, Regimes, and Vlast': How Citizens Make Sense of Everyday Authoritarianism?*
Presented by Diana T. Kudaibergen, lecturer in Central Asian Politics and Society at UCL SSEES as part of the 2024 Aleksanteri Conference Resisting Authoritarianism in Eurasia: Civil Society and New Solidarities. This plenary presentation explores how citizens navigate and interpret their realities under authoritarian regimes, with a focus on Central Asia. It challenges the normalization of authoritarianism and examines the political language citizens create to resist and articulate their experiences.
