In this webinar, which was broadcast live on May 10th, 2018, Dr Cam Escoffery Associate Professor, Department of Behavioral Sciences and Health Education, Rollins School of Public Health, Emory University presents her research on program adaptation.
In the dissemination of evidence-based interventions (EBIs), little is known about how adaptation occurs. In using EBIs, there may be mismatches between the characteristics of the population, implementing agency, and/or community to the original program. Organizations sometimes make adaptations to correct mismatches. This presentation defines and describes program adaptation, frameworks guiding it and results of a systematic review characterizing adaptations globally. Future areas of research were also discussed.
In a 20 minute Q&A following the presentation, participants posed their questions, moderated by Dr Wendy Gonzalez, Technical Specialist, Knowledge Leadership, at Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN).
