We start off this morning in the stunning Okiwi Bay in Marlborough where we are going to be doing some kayaking in Okiwi Bay. We hire some kayaks in Okiwi Bay and explore the bay and its prostine landscape.
We hire the kayaks in Okiwi Bay for about an hour then head back to the Okiwi Bay Holiday Park to get ready for our adventure on French Pass.
We are picked up by D’Urville Island Wilderness Resort for a drive on the French Pass Road – a road that rivals the beauty of even the road to Milford Sound. French Pass Road is a true hidden gem in New Zealand.
The French Pass Road leads to a small village of French Pass where we get a boat to D’Urville Island. Along the way, we pick up some blue cod with D’Urville Island Wilderness Resort by doing some fishing.
We fish at D’Urville Island then make our way to D’Urville Island Wilderness Resort where our hosts cook us fresh fish and chips!
After dinner, we relax in a homemade hot pool made out of a fish bin under the stars and moon. This is an awesome way to spend a flashpacker evening on D’Urville Island.
