Addressing the inaugural session of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Conference 2021 via video conferencing, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Saturday that India is ready to protect humanity with the development of two Made in India Covid vaccines. "In the coronavirus era today, India is among the countries with the lowest mortality rate and highest recovery rate in the world," he added. The Prime Minister also stated that several countries around the world took a leaf out of India's struggle against colonialism, and fight against terrorism. "When India started its struggle against colonialism, several countries of the world took a leaf out of it. When India started its fight against terrorism, the world got new strength to fend off this challenge," he said. PM Modi spoke further about India's usage of technology in anti-corruption matters. "Today, India is using technology to defeat corruption. Lakhs and crores of rupees are being directly transferred to beneficiaries' bank accounts," he added.
