Remarkably, Scotland has over 900 offshore islands, most of which are to be found in four main groups – Shetland, Orkney, and the Hebrides, sub-divided into the Inner Hebrides and Outer Hebrides. Fortunately for the golfer who is prepared to go on a voyage of discovery and ‘ferry hop’, there are plentiful golfing opportunities to be enjoyed on the islands’ fairways.
