Video discusses subtleties in fabricating doublets / achromats.
Quick Outline:
1) Lens fabricators bias radius of curvature on the bonded interface.
2) UV curing: Flints may absorb so illuminate from the crown side.
3) Crown to adhesive to flint may be close in index and fresnel losses could be low: One may be inclined to NOT AR (anti-reflection coat). In some cases you may should AR coat the crown / flints internal surface.
4) Steep bonded radii and mismatch in coefficient of thermal expansion may lead to broken bonds with temperature changes.
