Ingredients:
1 cup taro root, peeled and diced 🍠 (also known as Colocasia esculenta)
2 cups milk (or any milk substitute such as almond milk, coconut milk, etc.) 🥛
2-3 tablespoons sweetener of your choice (sugar, honey, maple syrup, etc.) 🍯
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional) 🌱
Ice cubes (optional) ❄️
Instructions:
Peel the taro root and dice it into small pieces.
In a pot, add the diced taro and enough water to cover it. Bring it to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer until the taro is soft and easily pierced with a fork, about 15-20 minutes. 🕒
Drain the cooked taro and let it cool slightly. 🔥
In a blender, combine the cooked taro, milk, sweetener, and vanilla extract (if using). Blend until smooth and creamy. 🌀
Taste the mixture and adjust the sweetness if needed by adding more sweetener. 🍬
If you prefer a colder drink, you can add ice cubes to the blender and blend until smooth. ❄️
Pour the taro milk into glasses and serve immediately. You can also garnish with additional taro pieces or a sprinkle of ground cinnamon if desired. 🌟🥤
