Vancouver is home to the largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGTBQ) community in Western Canada.
The LGTBQ community is a significant presence throughout Vancouver, centered along Davie Street in the West End and Commercial Drive in Grandview.
Every year the Mayor proclaims a week in August as Gay Pride Week as a show of support for this diverse and vibrant community.
