Boris Johnson has been told his social care plan needs more cash, with the sector saying it requires urgent funding in order to bring it “back from the brink”.
Care groups and charities said current funding is insufficient and the plans do not address the most pressing issues facing the sector – workforce challenges, unmet need and a fragile provider market – ahead of a challenging winter.
