Here I uploaded how to take care of an abscess wound that was incised and drained.
One of the struggles in rural community care and patients with certain types of health insurance is that home health only allows once a week home health visit because certain number of home visits are only covered under certain health insurances. Whatever the insurance status is I DO want to deliver proper care to every single patients. Ideally every day home care visit is the best but current system does not allow it unfortunately for certain patients population. Under those circumstances, I will do packing changes for them in my office. I teach family members how to do proper packing changes also if necessary. Some patients lives far from wound care clinic or my office.
One of my patients was generous enough to allow me to post this video to help others in our community! I apologize the quality of the video in advance but you will understand the main point of packing method by watching this short video.
I created this video for purely educational purpose and to improve our medically underserved medical health care quality. Of course you are not medical providers so if you are not comfortable please make sure to call your medical providers for further assistance.
I am hoping this will improve daily care of abscess wound packing and wound care management. Enjoy!
