If you use a powered Apple lightning to USB adaptor (Clagnut!) then you can access your files without the previous limitations. You can now access any file of a thumb drive, card reader or hard drive. Finally this allows iOS devices to be used in a truly professional capacity and significantly reduces the need to connect it to a computer to transfer files. Bravo Apple this is good news.
