On Jan 30, the Taiwan Centers for Disease Control confirmed a new case of the coronavirus. There are now nine cases, with more than 200 people quarantined. The latest two are the result of domestic transmission, sparking fears the epidemic could spread across the island. Meanwhile, to address the shortage, the government has been issuing six million masks a day to convenience stores islandwide. Authorities have also assured the public that the supply of masks will return to normal, with a daily output of four million.
