In preparation for this year’s 'Shwmae' Day, staff around the Health Board have been practising their Welsh skills by saying ‘Shwmae’ and sending messages of encouragement in Welsh to our National Rugby team ahead of the Rugby World Cup.
'Shwmae' Day/ 'Diwrnod Shwmae', which takes place this year on 15th October 2019, is a Welsh day that encourages everyone to ‘give it a go’ by saying some Welsh words and phrases. The Welsh Language belongs to everyone, so what better way to feel patriotic than by cheering on our Welsh Rugby Team and celebrating being Welsh?
To mark Wales’ first game in the Rugby World Cup, here are some staff at the Royal Gwent and St Woolos Hospitals showing their patriotism and sharing well-wishes for their National Team, by saying ‘Shwmae’!
Wrth baratoi ar gyfer Diwrnod Shwmae eleni, mae staff o amgylch y Bwrdd Iechyd wedi bod yn ymarfer eu sgiliau Cymraeg trwy ddweud 'Shwmae' ac anfon negeseuon o anogaeth yn Gymraeg i'n Tîm Rygbi Cenedlaethol ar gyfer Cwpan Rygbi'r Byd.
Diwrnod Shwmae, sy'n digwydd eleni ar 15fed Hydref 2019, yw ddiwrnod Cymreig sy'n annog pawb i 'roi cynnig arni' drwy ddweud rhai geiriau ac ymadroddion Cymraeg. Mae'r Iaith Gymraeg yn perthyn i bawb, a nid oes ffordd well o deimlo'n wladgarol na chefnogi ein Tîm Rygbi Cymraeg a dathlu bod yn Gymry?
I nodi gêm cyntaf Cymru yng Nghwpan Rygbi’r Byd, dyma rai o'n staff yn Ysbytai Brenhinol Gwent a Gwynllyw yn dangos eu gwladgarwch ac yn rhannu dymuniadau da i'w tîm cenedlaethol, drwy ddweud 'Shwmae'!
