Alex Wright would join WCW in 1994 and would debut in September defeating Brady Boone on Saturday Night. He would get the nickname Das Wunderkind and would continue using the nickname throughout his WCW career as Alex Wright. His first feud in the company would be against Jean-Paul Levesque defeating him at Starrcade 94. In 1995 he would defeat Bobby Eaton at Clash Of The Champions 30 and Paul Roma at Superbrawl 5. He would also feud with Disco Inferno throughout 1995 with Wright beating Inferno in every match. Alex Wright would beat Arn Anderson by DQ in a match for the Television Championship leading to a rematch at Slamboree which Wright would lose which was his first loss in WCW. Throughout the rest of 95 he would face the likes of Brian Pillman, The Stud Stable, DDP, Sabu and Eddie Guerrero. At Starrcade 1995 Wright would lose to Koji Kanemoto in a WCW Vs NJPW match.
In 1996 at Clash Of The Champions 32 Wright would lose to Dean Malenko. Wright would briefly feud with Dick Slater losing to him in a dark match at Uncensored 1996. At Slamboree Wright would be forced to team with his dance rival Disco Inferno to face Slater & Eaton in a losing effort. In 1997 at Clash Of The Champions 34 Wright would lose to Masahiro Chono. In mid 1997 Wright would turn heel after abandoning partner Ice Train in a tag team match. On Nitro in July Wright would defeat Chris Jericho to become WCW Cruiserweight Champion his first title in the company. He would then feud with Jericho successfully defending the title against him at Road Wild but would lose the title back to Jericho on an August episode of Saturday Night. Five days later at Clash Of The Champions 35 Wright would defeat Ultimo Dragon to become the WCW Television Champion. Wright would successfully defend the title against the likes of Lord Steven Regal and Ultimo Dragon before dropping the title to longtime rival Disco Inferno in September.
Following the title loss he would feud with Steve McMichael after Debra abandoned McMichael and began managing Alex Wright. Wright would defeat McMichael at Halloween Havoc but would lose to him at World War 3. In 1998 he would begin teaming with Disco Inferno as The Dancing Fools and they would mainly feud with The Public Enemy. They would also feud with Jim Neidhart & The British Bulldog and would eventually split due to the losses building up.
After returning to the singles division he would feud with Fit Finlay claiming he ended his father's career and would end up beating him at Halloween Havoc.
Wright would be taken off TV by early 1999 and would get a gimmick change with vignettes airing in mid 99 for a character called Berlyn the debut would be delayed until August. He would have a bodyguard known as The Wall and would only speak through his interpreter Uta Ludendorff refusing to speak english. In his debut segment he would insult Americans. He would defeat Jim Duggan at Fall Brawl 99. Following this he would feud with Brad Armstrong after attacking Scott Armstrong. Berlyn would lose to Brad Armstrong at Halloween Havoc.
Berlyn would then feud with Vampiro losing to him in a dog collar match after The Wall turned on him. Berlyn would feud with The Wall before disappearing from TV. After multiple months away from WCW he would return in September 2000 as Alex Wright once again and would begin teaming with Disco Inferno again now calling themselves The Boogie Knights. They would feud with The Filthy Animals & The Natural Born Thrillers and would win the WCW World Tag Team Championships from NBT in Germany but would lose the titles back a few days later after Disco was injured. Wright would get Kronik as his bodyguards before Disco returned to continue their tag team. They would remain a team until WCW closed its doors in 2001. Wright would have his last match on Thunder losing to Jason Jett.
