This is one of the nicest 1975 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow Long-wheelbase without division in existence. Being the first Rolls-Royce acquired (30 years ago) and painstakingly restored as part of a 40 Rolls-Royce collection, this is in concours condition today and runs and drives beautifully. If you are desiring a showroom new Silver Shadow Long-wheelbase, look no further. It has covered about 3,000 miles since its restoration.
Ordered on August 21, 1973 by Williams Ford Sales in Cincinnati, OH, it left Rolls-Royce on March 13th, 1974 on the “American Archer”. By April 28th, 1974 it had been received by the dealership and sold to William Scott Cline of C & C Development in Pikeville, KY. The Silver Shadow LWB lived much of its life with Mr. Cline in Daytona Beach, FL and by October of 1980 it had accumulated 27,965 miles.
The Silver Shadow was later owned by Richard Lynn of Marengo, IL and on July 19, 1991 it was acquired by its present owner. By 1992, the Silver Shadow had acquired 86,000 miles. Its new owner commenced a complete concours restoration. The mechanicals were all rebuilt (engine, hydraulics, brakes, air conditioning, etc.) by the specialist Larry Courtney. Then from 1992 through 1994, Barrington Coach Haus performed a gorgeous bare metal respray in its original color combination. Finally, in 1994, all new Connelly leather, Wilton wool carpeting and headliner was installed and the beautiful and perfect wood was refinished by David Paskin of EPC in Virginia.
The livery was refinished exactly as originally ordered when new in Shell Gray (Code 9500434) over Masons Black (Code 9500701) and complimented with red coachstripes. The owner invested $20,000 for the paint alone, with five coats of primer, four coats of paint and three coats of clear coat. The paint is absolutely in showroom condition, as is everything on this example. The chrome and stainless-steel trim are all in excellent show condition. The Black Everflex (Code 5218/DH) is perfect as well and was standard on the long-wheelbase models. We love the stainless RR badging that stands out well against the black roof.
Inside, the all-new black Connelly leather is complimented by red piping. The leather is soft and supple and looks nearly showroom new. The black Wilton wool carpeting is also as-new. The wood is dark and rich and in concours condition.
Mechanically, the Silver Shadow is in excellent condition. We conducted our 154-point inspection and the report is available at our Classic Promenade website. All systems were fully rebuilt and it drives as-new today. There are no rattles or issues.
This Silver Shadow LWB comes complete with a full compliment of tools, historical documents, factory records, restoration receipts, RROC judging sheets, two sets of keys and its owner’s manuals. The restoration receipts are detailed and total to in excess of $57,000.
