Patolyo are traditional Goan sweet prepared during both hindu and Christian festivals. It is a simple but delicious sweet and can be considered as snack too.
Ingredients
8 tumeric leaves
For dough
1 cup whole wheat flour
Salt to taste
Water
For filling
1 cup grated coconut
Grated jaggery to taste
Recipe
*Cut and clean the tumeric leaves.
*Add flour in bowl and salt to taste and add water to get a sticky consistency dough.
Prepare filling by mixing grated coconut and jaggery.
*To apply the dough on leaves apply water to your hand and spread it on the leaves, when fully covered add filling on half side and close it.
*In Idly container fill water and on top of the idli plate keep all the patolyo.
*Steam it for half hour on low heat.
