The long wait to the integration of South Sudan into COMESA is over after Africa’s youngest state officially signed to join the regional economic community on Thursday. The signing of the document was witnessed by Comesa secretary-general Sindiso Ngwenya at mombasa Forodha house during the ninth meeting of the management committee of the regional customs transit guarantee scheme. Leading the South Sudan delegation was Stephen Matatia who is the director general for external trade in the republic of South Sudan. Uganda and Ethiopia recently joined the Comesa to boost trade in the region.
