Sannat is a small village in the island of Gozo. Close by there are the famous Cliffs of Ta' Cenc and the very old Dolmens. We'll visit them while listening to:

1. Symphony No. 6 (Pastoral) 5th Movement. This is one of the 9 symphonies by Ludwig van Beethoven and it can be defined as a hymn to Nature. Beethoven loved Nature and many times he used to go out for walks to the countryside. It was completed in 1808.
2. Coda-Apotheosis from the Nutcracker Ballet Suite, plays the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. This is a truly beautiful selection from Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite - Apotheosis. The Nutcracker, a two-act ballet by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. I think this piece of music is divine.
Apotheosis (from Greek ἀποθεόων), refers to the exaltation of a subject to divine level. The term has meanings in theology, where it refers to a belief, and in art, where it refers to a genre.

Sannat, a village in the southern part of Gozo and has a population of approx 2,400 persons. This village is popular for its very high cliffs, ancient cart ruts, temples and dolmens, and rich fauna and flora.
The parish church is dedicated to St. Margaret Martyr has a very good altar piece by Stefano Erardi, a famed local painter. The village feast of St. Margaret is celebrated each year around the third week of July.
The present parish church was rebuilt and enlarged in 1860.
L-Imramma Temple found at Ta' Cenc within the the limits of Sannat is a primitive type prehistoric temple made up of a sort of an oval court with a series of more or less oval rooms to the north. Other interesting remains are three dolmens, a horizontal slab of limestone supported on three sides by blocks of stone standing on end.
Lying low by Ta' Cenc, one could admire the natural beauty of Hanzira valley which leads down to Mgarr ix-Xini Bay. The pebbly beach of this bay is mostly popular with divers and in fact the wreck of the once Malta-Gozo ferryboat Xlendi rests on the seabed, a few hundred metres away from the bay's outer stretches
After World War 2 Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, then Princess, stayed in a house called "The Lace House" located in a small square in Ta' Sannat called "Pjazza Tax-Xelina".
If you visit Malta, make sure you visit our sister island of Gozo - you won't regret it.
