THREE BOARDS OVER A WEEK. I decided to surf 3 of my boards at the same spot for a week. Switching boards keeps the stoke high for surfers of a slightly older vintage I reckon. Two consecutive days on each, just to see if my surfing could adapt and I thought it'd be interesting to compare the feels of each from day to day on similar waves. The surf started off great, some swell and not much wind, and then got progressively smaller and windier. I started the week on my old favourite, the 6'10 (glass-in keels), then moved to my new 6'6 (futures/ keels) which I hadn't ridden before and finally to the 7'4 Seaside & Beyond (quad) which I hadn't ridden for 6 months. (with a couple of waves on the 6'10 from last month at the end) The biggest difference was surprisingly not the lengths but the feel of the epoxy, it just sits in/on the water differently. Apart from grabbing a few rails and my timing being a touch off from switching boards, it turned out to be a great week. The 6'6 is my daily board at the moment. (the song is another I wrote for my old band The Coolites)
Cheers.
