In the 90s, Brittany Murphy's acting career took off when she starred in the coming-of-age teen comedy and cult classic Clueless. She went on to have a solid career in the 90s and early 2000s and starred in movies like Girl, Interrupted, Riding in Cars with Boys, 8 Mile, and Sin City.

But sadly, Murphy’s life was cut short at just 32 years of age when she died of pneumonia in 2009. On December 20, Murphy collapsed in her bathroom, and even though the Los Angeles Fire Department tried to resuscitate her, she eventually died a couple of hours later after going into cardiac arrest.

The cause of Murphy’s death, however, still remains a mystery. There have been reports saying it was anemia, and some have even suggested toxic mold and deliberate poisoning by heavy metals.
