Pão de Queijo is an absolute staple in Brazilian cuisine - and with good reason!
These warm, chewy, and cheesy bites are the perfect appetizer or comfort food, and are easy to whip up and toss in the oven.
(Did we mention that they're also gluten-free?)
Our Content & Creative Manager (and total Brazilian Babe!), Ingrid, shows you how to make these perfect treats at home.
Ingredients:
3 cups - tapioca flour
1 teaspoon - salt
2 - eggs
3 tablespoons - butter
1 cup - milk
3/4 cup - parmesan cheese
3/4 cup - mozzarella cheese
1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.
2. Put the milk, butter, and salt to a saucepan and bring to a boil
3. While still hot, pour the milk mixture into tapioca flour and mix with a spoon until dough cools down, then use hands to continue mixing and fluffing up the dough.
4. Beat 2 eggs, and slowly start to incorporate them into the dough.
5. Add your parmesan and mozzarella cheese into the dough!
6. Spray a cooking sheet with some butter or oil to prevent sticking.
7. Roll the dough up into 1 inch balls
8. Bake them in the oven at 375 degrees for 20 minutes.
And you're all done! Enjoy while warm.
