Food science is broad, and every day we learn something new. One of these new finds is the science of ice cream. While it is not a new subject, it is not worth exploring. One lady has taken up this challenge and is making a big change in the world. She is Dr. Maya Warren.
Dr. Maya Warren is an ice cream scientist at SmiZE Cream who holds a Ph.D. (UW-Madison) in food science. She has specialized in the microstructure and sensorial. And behavioral properties of frozen aerated desserts. Among her many wins is the Amazing Race win alongside her friend and former friend, Dr. Amy DeJong. She also touches on the inspiration she has strived to deliver, "I've inspired people to pursue dreams that they didn't even know were possible and to be able to look at what scientists look like, what scientists are, and who we are all because I was able to follow my passion my love of ice cream."
