A 26-story building is on fire in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.
"Sputnik Kazakhstan" reported on this.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan, the fire started from the upper floors.
Eight people, including one child, were evacuated from the building.
It is noted that the building is administrative and partially residential. A headquarters was established at the scene. Evacuation is underway.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
According to the information of officials of Astana, the level of the fire is elevated. The fire occurred in the building at Turan 37/9 - residential complex Rixos Khan Shatyr Residences.
Arriving firefighters found that the exterior of the apartment was on fire on the 26th floor of the residential complex.
At least 72 firefighters and 16 technical units are working at the area of the fire. Rescuers partially evacuated the building.
On the images published on the network, you can see that the fire is quite large. Black smoke is visible several kilometers away.
