DescriptionSince Stephanie was diagnosed with breast cancer in April, she has documented everything on Facebook: her double mastectomy, the non-profit Foundation she set up to help others with cancer, even her own head shaving party before she lost her hair.
“I have gained so much knowledge, so much strength, and so much empowerment from the support, the emails, sharing my journey on Facebook, and meeting other women with breast cancer that I can help. I would do it all over again to be where I am right now.”
Just a year in her marriage at 42, she and her husband Joey were trying to have children, but after she was diagnosed, her chances of having a baby were slim. After several failed in-vitro fertilization attempts, she applied to an adoption agency as her last chance. Now, after wrapping up her chemotherapy in September, Stephanie is moving forward to the next stage of her life – building her nonprofit for other breast cancer fighters ,and being a mom.
