The Wirbelwind in War Thunder is an absolute powerhouse of a vehicle. Not only is it the best SPAA at its tier, it's also a VERY good tank destroyer!
The Wirbelwind has been a controversial vehicle for a long time, but since the addition of the R3 T20 and EBR it's been pretty overshadowed. That doesn't mean it isn't a REALLY powerful tank, though... it most certainly is!
The Wirbelwind is based on a Panzer 4 chassis but has been outfitted with FOUR 20mm cannons with a variety of ammunition types. This includes the very powerful HVAP round that can punch through nearly 60mm of armour.
It would be a definite mistake to NOT have the Wirbelwind in your German Tank lineup. Not only can you use it to claw back some spawn points, you can even win games in it!
